Cotton-grass grows in wetlands. They are app. 30 cm (1 ft) high, so I got wet elbows and stomach to catch them at this angle

June 4... Our granddaughter is the sunflower in our family.

Memorial for seamen from our small community who gave their lives in their service for the Allies during WW2. Some were at sea when we were invaded, other sailed to England on fishing vessel and joined the Royal Marine or the merchant fleet
May 27... During WW2 the Nazis built hundreds of bunkers on our small island as a guard against a possible Allied invasion because the only major harbour on Denmark's westcoast lies just east of our island. The heavy guns of the wrecked battleship Gneisenau was placed on some of these bunkers. This year a exhibition of modern art has been opened in one of those bunkers. This is a picture of the entrance and you can imagine the exhibition is well protected against burglary with its more than 1 m thick walls

For the last 3 days we had a visit of 5 family members. We were very busy entertaining them so I had little time to post pictures. One of them was my youngest granddaughter, a real darling, so I shall share this picture with you

May 11... Cotton-grass grows in huge numbers in a small area on our island. They grow in a wet area and are therefore only seen by few people. You have to wear rubber-boots to come close to them
